planning the advertisement

As apart of our research, we got tasked to come up with a short advert in the span of a couple of hours.

The advert I chose to create is one that incorporated pathos in a PSA style. I created an animation that advertised a product through an emotional PSA.

I created my advert using adobe animate and then edited it in premiere pro.

The advert took place in an underpass and zoomed in on a person sitting down before a voice over spoke and advertised the product.

This picture of a ‘creepy’ underpass is what gave inspiration for the background of the animation for the advertisement. Dark, covered in graffiti and run down, I felt this was the perfect environment for the PSA to take place. Seeing these conditions in an advert would urge people to take action.

The product I'm advertising:

The products I have decided to advertise, are lunchboxes. I wanted to chose something that appealed to younger audiences, so chose lunchboxes as a result of that. I know that many adults will buy this product for their kids to put possibly school lunches in, so I know that it is a good product to therefore advertise.

creating A SURVEY

To take a look at the interest of my product as well as some needed data surrounding it, I decided to create a short survey that asked 6 simple questions relating to the lunchboxes and healthy eating.

This survey was created through Google forms and was sent out to my peers to take part in.

Here is the link to the survey:

Short day project advertisements

Over the weeks, we also created a number of short advertisement pieces, spanning over a day. here are the results of those tasks:

Here I was tasked to advertise Colchester Institute. I simply went around the college, recording sections of it on my phone and then proceeded to compile and edit them together in Adobe Premiere.

This was the task to advertise a product. I decided I wanted to try and animate this advert for hoodies, since I knew that my final advert would be animated and I wanted to practice my skills in Adobe Animate. This was edited using Premiere Pro.

Here is a very short animation of the Tumblr logo, Halloween themed put together with some spooky sound effects in the background. Our task was to advertise an already existing online service, therefore I chose Tumblr. The 't' logo was created on Animate and compiled all in Premiere Pro.

This task was to create a poster or advert that was 'Clickbait', or something that falsely advertised a product.

Examples of clickbait include: ‘I almost DIED this morning’

‘You won’t know how much you LOVE this product until you try it!’

The piece was created on Adobe Photoshop.
